HYWEMA® wheelset changing system RSW-RSH 25

HYWEMA® lifting equipment developed a modular wheelset changing system for the maintenance of rail vehicles.

This system can be used for all common rail vehicles and only requires a supported track with appropriate rail bridges. The modular wheelset changing system consists of different components that are used for the individual working processes. The working level is standardised to –950 mm, in ratio from the top edge of the rail, to the floor. A special coating for the floor is not necessary, because the transportation of the wheelset changing components occur with a fork lift or special lift truck.  The wheelset changing device (RSH 25) has a total capacity of 25.000 kg. After inserting in the pit, the wheelset changing device is movable by an integrated transmission. After this, the fitting demounting position can be aligned to the axle. This occurs by a special lifting truck (GBS 3,0) or by an existing fork lift with extra long fork rakes. The control occurs over two levels; a confirmation on the compact control, that is directly assembled on the wheelset changing unit, or with a pluggable remote control on 5 meter cable. To guarantee an exact aligning, a horizontal adjustment of +/- 20 mm is possible. A multilevel cylinder beneath the platform lifts up the axle for a few centimeters, until the rail bridges are unloaded.  The rail bridges are removed from the active- and passive side. An electro hydraulic vehicle with drive (ANF-GB-E) or a manual vehicle for the acceptance (ANF-GB-M) with a hydraulic operation, is used for this. The rail bridge on the passive side remains on the according vehicle. The rail bridge on the passive side can be removed and stored if the according grounding exists on the rail bridge. The working area is now freely accessible.  Before the damaged axle can be removed, the bogie of the active- and passive side is safed against tilting, by mobile safety catches with self-locking spindle adjustment. The capacity of each safety catch is 12.500 kg.  The axle can now be removed and lowered. Different adaptions can be plugged in, to support the various attached parts on the lifting platform of the wheelset changing unit (e.g. transmission support). The dismounted axle is lowered and removed by a special lift truck (GBS) or by an existing fork lift with long fork rakes. To protect the flanges, according adaptors are shuffled on the fork rakes. The removed axle is passed for an overhaul and the new axle can be built-in.
